QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The City Health Office of Las Piñas held a comprehensive tuberculosis lecture series as part of a committed drive towards promoting healthier living spaces within the community, at the Almanza Uno Elementary School on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
The initiative aims to educate residents about the transmission, prevention, and symptoms of tuberculosis (TB), as well as disseminating information on where to obtain free medication.
The series delved into the core dynamics of TB transmission, laying emphasis on protective measures to avert the spread of this disease.
By explaining the signs and symptoms of TB, the lecture sought to equip the attendees with essential knowledge to identify potential cases at an early stage, thereby fostering a proactive approach towards disease management and control.
The City Health Office has also reached out to the Department of Education, proposing a collaborative effort to extend this lecture series across various schools within Las Piñas.
The proposed collaboration underscores a concerted effort to promote healthy spaces in the earliest stages by instilling a robust understanding of TB, its implications, and the importance of early detection and treatment. (lp pio/pia-ncr)
