PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reminds train commuters and Beep card users to be wary of unauthorized stored value card merchandise which are for sale through various online platforms.
In an advisory, the transportation department said that the proliferation of unauthorized merchandise, include charms, trinkets, keychains, bracelets, and accessories bearing beep card functionality.
The DOTr cleared that the use of mentioned products as stored value card (SVC) is not considered as authorized fare media in the light railway network.
The transportation department also reiterated that only legitimately sourced beepTM cards will be honored at any railway acceptance points for payment of train fees and for other transactions at the LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3.
