DepEd-La Union recognizes outstanding teachers, school heads

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) -- The Department of Education- La Union Schools Division Office (DepEd-LUSDO) recognized its Outstanding Teachers and Schools Heads in the province at the Paradiso Beach Resort, Samara, Aringay, La Union on Friday, October 6.

The awarding ceremony coincided with the celebration of National Teachers’ Month and is in line with the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) of the agency.

The awarding comes after a rigorous screening process that includes Paper Screening (Phase 1), Validation and Background Investigation (Phase 2), and Interview and Demonstration Teaching (for teacher nominees), and School Leadership Assessment (for school head nominees).


“When you receive an award, that's not the end. It's only the beginning. The beginning to sustain the successes, yung mga nagawa mong kabutihan... so, continue doing good,” DepEd La Union Schools Division Superintendent Jorge Reinante said.


Lailanie Ballesteros of the Rosario Integrated School in Rosario town was named Most Outstanding Teacher in the Elementary Category.


Hilda Huliganga of Paringao Elementary School in Bauang town placed second; Emily Untalan of Ambaracao Sur Elementary School in Naguilian, third; Estrella Candari of Damortis Elementary School in Santo Tomas town, fourth; and Franklin Manongdo Franklin of San Cornelio Elementary School in Caba, fifth.

Meanwhile, Alvin Mangaoang of Don Eulogio De Guzman Memorial National High School (DEGMNHS) landed first in the Outstanding Teacher for the Secondary Category.
 

Ricel Mifa of Regional Science High School in Bangar ranked second; Melanie Padilla of Rosario Integrated School in Rosario town, third; Edmond Ramirez of Santo Tomas National High School in Santo Tomas, fourth; and Mariza Mapalo of Aringay National High School in Aringay town, fifth.
 
Ernesto Ramos of the Sengngat Elementary School topped the  Outstanding School Head for the Elementary Category.

Marilyn Respicio of Mangaan Elementary School in Santol town  settled for second; Evelyn Valdez of Balaoan Central Elementary School in Balaoan, third; Marilyn Eslabra of Ubagan Elementary School in Santo Tomas fourth; and Cathy Pascua of Suyo Elementary School in Luna, fifth.


Lastly, Racel Ordinario of Bungol National High School in Balaoan is this year’s Outstanding School Head for the Secondary Category.


Jennifer Mejia of Eulogio Clarence De Guzman Jr. Vocational High School in Bauang came in second; Ma. Cherry Barrairo of Sudipen Vocational High School in Sudipen, third; Roldan Jinkee of Northern Naguilian National High School in Naguilian, fourth; and William Quiñones of San Jose National High School in Caba town, fifth.
