ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) -- The National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the highest recognition and scientific advisory body in the Philippines operating under the Department of Science and Technology, conducted a series of talks in Odiongan, Romblon as part of their Salinlahi Symposium to promote Science and Technology among high school students from different schools in Romblon.

Salinlahi Symposium seeks to provide students from far-flung areas with insights into the world of Science and Technology (S&T), exposing them to the work of scientists. Its goal is to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

One of the speakers at the event was National Scientist Raul Fabella, who shared valuable insights into pursuing careers in Economics and Social Sciences. The symposium also featured other accomplished academics, including Academicians Jaime Montoya, Arnel Salvador, Jose Maria Balmaceda, and Eugenio Rasco Jr.

DOST Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum Jr., also graced the event and shared the programs and opportunities offered by the DOST to students aspiring to pursue STEM fields.
