OPAPRU brings humanitarian aid, explains benefits to FRs in San Mariano

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Northern Luzon recently brought sacks of rice to former rebels (FRs), now called “Friends Rescued” in San Mariano.

OPAPRU Regional Adviser on Peace and Security - Region 2 B/Gen. Ramon Yogyog (Ret), who led the distribution of said humanitarian assistance, explained to the FRs the many benefits of surrendering to the folds of law.

Yogyog urged the former rebels to identify their other needs as the government is dedicated to help them as they reintegrated in the community.

“We aim to extend immediate help and provide you with livelihood assistance with the help of various government agencies,” Yogyog said.

Yogyog thanked the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, through the 95th Infantry Battalion, for their support in reaching out with all the former rebels in the province.
