LAGAWE, Ifugao(PIA)--Three local government units (LGU) in the province received plaques of recognition for their active involvement in the protection, conservation, and sustainable development of the fisheries sector.
LGU- Aguinaldo, LGU- Alfonso Lista, and LGU- Mayoyao were among those recognized as national awardees of the “Parangal sa mga Kabalikat sa Pangisdaan: Gawad Pagkilala at Pasasalamat” of the Bureau of Fisheries and Natural Resources (BFAR).
Aguinaldo Mayor Gaspar B. Chilagan Jr., Alfonso Lista Vice-Mayor Agapito B. Dominguez Jr., and Mayoyao Mayor Jimmy Jr. B. Padchanan led their respective teams in receiving their award during the culmination program of the 60th Fish Conservation Week celebration held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City recently.
The three LGUs were the only national awardees from the Cordillera region.
BFAR- Cordillera also awarded plaque of Gawad Parangal sa mga Kabalikat ng Pangisdaan to the three LGUs during the regional awarding ceremony on September 29 in Baguio City.
Mayor Padchanan expressed gratitude to BFAR for recognizing the efforts and contributions of LGUs in fish and aquatic programs. He also assured the BFAR of their continued partnership in attaining the objectives of the national government and in providing livelihood opportunities to the fisheries sector.
