Manila issues advisory for this year’s ‘Undas’ observance

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Two weeks before ‘Undas’ or an event that remembers dead love ones,  the City Government of Manila issued an advisory to remind the public of the annual observance.   

According to the city government, the guidelines will be implemented at the Manila North and South Cemeteries from October 29 to November 2, 2023.

Prohibited in said cemeteries include:

  • Vendors
  • Any type of vehicles
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Deck cards, bingo cards, or any kind of gambling paraphernalia
  • Flammable materials
  • Firearms and any sharp objects (knife, cutter, etc.)
  • Videoke or any sound system that will cause loud sounds

Visitors to the cemetery are also reminded that cleaning, painting, and renovation of graves will be allowed until October 25, 2023 only.

Interment operations are temporarily closed starting October 28 and will resume on November 3, 2023.

The main gates of the cemeteries are open from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only, starting October 30 to November 2, 2023.

Vehicles are only allowed to enter Manila North Cemetery until October 25, while for Manila South Cemetery vehicles will be allowed until October 28 only.

Meanwhile, offices will resume regular services on November 3, 2023 (Friday).
