RDC-RPMC III lauds DPWH accomplishment in Capas-Botolan Road Project

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- The Central Luzon Regional Development Council-Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RDC-RPMC III) lauded the accomplishments of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Capas-Botolan Road Project.

The infrastructure will create a direct east-west link between the provinces of Tarlac and Zambales once completed.

During the site inspection of member-agencies and private sector representatives of RDC-RPMC III, DPWH Regional Office III Project Engineer Albert Salac reported that funded sections of the project are nearing completion.

“Of the total length of 39.29 kilometers in Tarlac Side, 18.805 kilometers have already been completed including five bridges, while two bridges are still ongoing,” he shared.

Completed portion is funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA), whereas the remaining 20.485 kilometers are to be funded under Official Development Assistance (ODA) Funding.

For the Zambales section, DPWH accomplished 15.63 kilometers out of the  21.96 kilometers total length.

Likewise, the completed portion for the Zambales section is funded under GAA while the remaining 6.33 kilometers is under ODA Funding.

With this, Fernando Cabalza of the National Economic and Development Authority Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division commended the implementation of the project.

“Based on our observation, the road project may surely bring more developments in our region and has a potential to become a tourist attraction given that the scenery along the way may entice nature and sports enthusiasts,” he said.

Meanwhile, RDC-RPMC III is set to visit Angat Water Transmission Improvement Project and Bigte-Novaliches Aquaduct No. 7 in Norzagaray, Bulacan on October 19. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
