Diclas then turned over the key to the province which symbolized the turn-over of responsibilities to Scout Provincial Governor Kezia Keren Liwan while Vice Governor Ericson Felipe turned over the gavel and parliamentary books to Scout Provincial Vice Governor Manu Orlando Edoc.
"I extend my congratulations to the Scout Officials for a Day. You're not just here because they told you so, you're here, too, because you are chosen. Recognizing you as the cream of the crop in your schools, I commend your selection,” Diclas said.
He also thanked the officials, the BSU and other national agencies for supporting the Boy and Girl Scouts. “Hosting this activity is important in preparing the youth for future leadership, not only in our province but across the country. This goes beyond politics, reaching into civil service and various careers. Be kind and finish your studies because you are the next leader," the Governor said.
In her message, Benguet Girl Scout Council President Norma Balitcha emphasized the significance of the activity which is an opportunity for young girls and boys to enhance character training, responsible citizenship, and community service. She thanked the officials for providing the opportunity and congratulated the SOFAD for experiencing firsthand running the affairs of offices and serving the public.
Meanwhile, Scout Provincial Governor Liwan said that the experience as scout officials is a real-life step towards their dreams. The engagement, she said, aims for excellence, and they are prepared to make it count and continue counting.
“We, as the entrusted representatives of here and now, confidently carried out our duties to the best of our talents. Today's engagement aims for excellence, and we are prepared to make it count and continue counting. I can count on you as you can count on me,” Liwan said. (JDP/RMC-PIA CAR/ SLU Interns)
