BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) distributed financial assistance to 41 micro rice retailers (MRRs) in this province.
Rowena Mayangat, acting DTI provincial director, said the beneficiaries were the third batch of MRRs given economic relief subsidy amounting to P15,000 each.
She said the subsidy was sourced through the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program to help MRRs cushion the impact of the Mandatory Rice Price Ceiling (MRPC) for more than a month.

President Ferdinand Marcos,Jr. has already lifted the MRPC as embodied in its Executive Order No. 39.
“Please use this assistance in making your businesses grow. We thank you for your support and cooperation by complying with the EO No. 39,” Mayangat said.
She further encouraged the beneficiaries to always follow and comply with the Price Tag and Fair Trade Laws to help the national government stabilize the price of rice for the benefit of consumers, especially the poor.
At present, there are already 357 MRRs who were given ERS since the implementation of the MRPC or EO 39 last month. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
