PLGU, partners bring assistance to Egay-affected families in Bauko

BAUKO, Mountain Province(PIA)-- The  provincial government continues to collaborate with partners  to bring assistance to families affected by calamities in the province.

The Provincial Local Government Unit(PLGU) recently delivered food packs from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation(PAGCOR) to three typhoon Egay-affected barangays in Bauko.

A total of 415 food packs  were provided to  barangay  Otucan Sur,  251 to Lagawa, and    481 to Poblacion.   

Executive Assistant to the Governor Acqueles Agnapan  said the beneficiaries  were identified  based on the  reports of  barangay officials  submitted to the Municipal Department of Social Welfare and Development and  Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office  and  endorsed to the Provincial DRRMO.

Beneficiaries  are thankful for the  food packs they received.

“Iya-iyaman sina iyali yu ay paggawisan isnan umili, sapay kuma ta ad-adu nan programa ay kagtuna ay idawat yu karkaru isnan nay da senior citizens tako, ” [Thank you so much for this great service you gave for the community. I hope that there are more programs for the community especially to the senior citizens] Nicole Becyagen from Otucan Sur said.

Jona Lacwasan who represented  Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr.  said that through the unity of the local government officials,  programs and projects as well as assistance  that they work hard for  are  reaching the communities.

Earlier this month,  160 bags of  Complete Fertilizer (14-14-14)  were distributed  to 557 farmers of Bauko whose  vegetable crops  were affected by typhoon Egay.  Farmers with an area of .1  to  .8 hectare  received 10 kilograms  while farmers with .9 ha and above received  two to five  sacks of fertilizer.

Provincial Agriculturist  Dominga Cabatu said 500, 000.00  which was allotted for the purchase of the fertilizers for distribution was  thru the efforts of  the Governor  who personally met with  President Bongbong Marcos to seek assistance.

This is also in support to Masaganang Ani, Mataas Na Kita program of  the Department of  Agriculture.(JDP/CVBT-PIA CAR, Mountain Province)
