QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – A total of 200 barangay health workers from various community health centers in the Muntinlupa City received lecture trainings on the basics of breast cancer, the purpose and conduct of clinical breast exams, and patient navigation experience.
This, after the City Government recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with ICanServe Foundation (ICS) in cooperation with the Muntinlupa Gender and Development (GAD) Office and City Health Office (CHO) October 9 to provide early detection training for the city's frontline health workers as part of the implementation of the Ating Dibdibin Program.
"We are privileged to work with ICS as we need all the help we can get to protect women from breast cancer," Biazon said. "Ating Dibdibin reminds us that breast cancer is a serious issue, but can be overcome if we work together especially in the area of early detection, which can really save lives."
Earlier, the City Government entered into a MOA with ICS to implement the Ating Dibdibin Program in cooperation with the city's Gender and Development (GAD) Office.
A highlight of the agreement is the use of the Ating Dibdibin digital platform that collates data which can then be optimized to integrate with any lab machine.
With near-universal access for health professionals, coupled with training for community health workers, this approach is expected to provide low-cost breast cancer treatment alternatives for Muntinlupeño women. (muntinlupa pio/pia-ncr)
