PSA, DSWD join forces for PWD registration to PhilSys

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) - - The Philippine Statistics Authority joined  forces with the Department of Social Welfare and Development   in locating and  registering  Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
 
“This collaboration is set to deliver significant impact in fostering inclusivity of PWDs to various government programs and sector benefits. It also aims to empower PWDs by granting them access to government services while recognizing their unique needs”, Maribel Dalayday, Chief Statistical Special of PSA Kalinga said. 

During the recent registration conducted for PWDs, Dalayday said  21 individuals successfully registered with PhilSys.  Four were also  able to secure their ePhilIDs or the printable PhilSys  ID which  has the same functionality and validity as the PhilID   while waiting for the physical PhilID.

PhilSys registration is also being conducted to beneficiaries of DSWD-SWAD crisis interventions, disclosed Dalayday.
 In a related development, PSA issued a public advisory relative to reports received by the PSA pertaining to certain individuals presenting themselves to be PSA Central Office employees scanning PhilIDs in exchange of certain amount. 

“This is to inform the public that the PSA is not conducting any form of data collection or verification and scanning through unauthorized means. We strongly encourage the public to exercise caution and vigilance. Do not submit your PhillD or ePhillD, or any personal information to any individual or entity claiming to represent the PSA for scanning or data collection or verification”. Such activities are unauthorized and could compromise your privacy and security”, the advisory states.
 
PSA further advised the public that should  they  encounter any person or organization claiming to be associated with PSA requesting your PhillD or ePhillD for scanning or other suspicious activities,  they should  report the same immediately to the Fraud Management Division of PSA through its email address at fmd.staff@psa.gov.phor visit the PhilSys Registration Center near you.
 
PSA  enjoins  the  cooperation of the public  in reporting such incidents which is vital in upholding the integrity of the PhilSys and safeguarding the privacy and security of every Filipino.
