In her opening message, PSA-10 OIC Director Janith Aves said the 34th NSM Inter-Agency Statistical Exhibit is a celebration of the men and women who transform numbers into knowledge and the tools that make it all possible.
The exhibit, she said, also spotlights the beauty of data visualization and the significance of statistical analysis in the daily lives of the public.
Aves also stated that statistics are the silent storytellers of the society that shape decisions and policies.
As such, she called on the public to embrace the opportunities to use the data presented in the statistical exhibit to create a better country, drive innovation, and address the challenges of times.
The Regional Development Council (RDC)-X earlier approved RDC-X Resolution 118, series of 2023, enjoining members of the RDC, LGUs, academe, and the private sector to support the 34th NSM to help in enhancing awareness and appreciation of the value and importance of statistics to the different sectors of society.
This year, the NSM is anchored on the theme “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines" to emphasize the importance of data and statistics in enhancing health outcomes and accelerating the nation's socioeconomic development using quality health and health-related statistics.
