DILG orients provincial, municipal LGSF-SBDP inspection teams

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) here, in collaboration with DILG Region 02, recently conducted a virtual orientation for the inspection of projects under the Local Government Support Fund - Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).

The activity aimed to provide guidance to the members of the Provincial and Municipal Inspection Teams who are responsible in overseeing, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the Barangay Development Projects (BDP) in the province.

Program Manager Blessing Grace Sagun said the orientation aimed to ensure that the BDP projects were implemented according to approved plans and specifications.

“This is an integral part of the LGSF-SBDP's implementation activities, specifically designed for the beneficiary barangays as a requirement for the Fiscal Year 2022 SBDP Projects in the province,” Sagun said.

Engr. Lester Efhraim P. Cabrillos and Engr. Dan Mark R. Gangan, who served as resource persons, discussed the roles and responsibilities of Local Government Units (LGUs) and National Government Agencies (NGAs), the legal foundations outlined in MC No. 2003-001, the key features and functions of the LGSF-SBDP, and the importance of adhering to the accomplishment reports and documentary requirements for participants.

The Barangay Development Program is the flagship project of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) funded under the Local Government Support Fund that is envisioned to bring in basic services and development to conflict-prone communities.

Meanwhile, the DILG announced that the inspection of the completed SBDP FY 2022 projects will be done on November 6-9, 2023.

Among the projects are Concreting of Farm to market roads at barangays Tucod and Dingasan, Cabarroguis; Concreting FMR at Purok 5, Sto Nino, Maddela; Upgrading of FMR at Purok 6, San Martin, Maddela; Concreting of FMR Purok 1, Sangbay; Concreting of FMR at Dicimungal, Nagtipunan; and Concreting of FMR at barangays Tucod and Dingasan in Cabarroguis.

The provincial and municipal inspection teams include personnel from Municipal Engineering Offices of the six LGUs, Municipal Local Government Operations Officers and representatives from National Government Agencies such as   Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Agriculture, Provincial Engineering Office, Philippine Information Agency, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Army.
