Dinapigue health office train health workers on maternal and child care

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) -- The Municipal Health office of the coastal town of Dinapigue in partnership with the Isabela Provincial Health Office (IPHO) recently conducted a 3-day training and updates on Maternal and Infant and Young Child Feeding counseling.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Reygene M. Caratiquit said the training aims to provide additional knowledge to the Rural Health Midwives, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Health Workers, Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives  from different barangays, and some police personnel in the town.

She said that the coastal town of Dinapigue is far from the mainland of the province as it will take several hours to reach the town via Quirino and Aurora province and the necessity to train the health workers is imperative to attend to the health and nutrition needs of mother and children in the town.

“We are thankful to the IPHO for sending some of their health personnel to provide updates through the conduct of training on maternal and child care to our health workers,” Caratiquit said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Vicente D. Mendoza expressed his thanks to the IPHO for conducting the training as he advised the town’s health workers to work and implement the knowledge they gained during the training.
