OPAPRU chief encourages unity and peace in New Year's message

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- In a message resonating hope and solidarity, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez extended warm greetings to Filipinos as the nation embraces the New Year.

Highlighting the trials and tribulations of the past year, Galvez emphasized the remarkable resilience and strength demonstrated by the Filipino people amid adversity.

Galvez underscored the significance of unity, urging citizens to stand hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder in the face of challenges. Embracing diversity and working collectively for the common good, he emphasized that this will pave the way for a more peaceful and progressive future.

Expressing gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., Galvez commended the President's steadfast commitment to peace efforts and acknowledged the unwavering support bestowed upon OPAPRU.

Additionally, he extended thanks to various government agencies, international and local peace partners, and key individuals such as Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto "Anton" Floirendo Lagdameo Jr. for their continued support in advancing peace building initiatives.

Looking ahead, Galvez stressed the importance of fostering peace, reconciliation, and unity in society.

He urged everyone to embody change by fostering kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, fostering an environment of positivity and understanding.
