BATANGAS CITY (PIA) -- The city government of Batangas is calling on business owners to use the Electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS) in renewing their business permits.
Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha emphasized that the city government is committed to implement contactless transactions which aims to reduce processing time for each transaction and provide a more efficient experience for taxpayers.
Various online services are available, including the renewal of business permits. This can be done entirely online, from document submission to payment and permit printing.
In 2023, Batangas became one of the 13 cities nationwide, and the first in Southern Luzon, to receive a certificate of commendation from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for its exemplary implementation of eBOSS. This initiative was spearheaded by the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO).
ARTA recognized Batangas for its simple process, addressing concerns raised by local businesses regarding permits and licenses, and making optimal use of technology. The city saw an increase in both total business registrations and revenue collections from business permits between 2021 and 2022.
Dimacuha vowed to continuously enhance the efficiency of their services through an effective government system.
"Our main goal is customer satisfaction, so it's crucial that taxpayers remain satisfied with our services," says the mayor.
In addition to the digital hub, the Batangas LGU also accommodates face-to-face transactions through the Integrated Business-One-Stop-Shop (BOSS), offering a streamlined process for the convenience of business owners.
The BOSS provides various services, including those from the City Treasurer's Office, City Health Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Office of the City Veterinary, City Market Office, Tourism Office, ITSD, Mayors Actions Center, Defense Security Services, and Task Force Disiplina, among others.
National government agencies, such as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Social Security System (SSS), are also available at the BOSS.
Around 13,000 registered businesses in Batangas City are expected to renew their business permits this January. (Bhaby P. De Castro/PIA Batangas; with reports from PIO Batangas City)
