IBA, Zambales (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has turned over a shredding machine to farmers belonging to the Masinloc Federated Farmers Association (MFFA) in Zambales.
The grant was given under the Shared Service Facility (SSF) program of DTI that aims to improve micro, small, and medium enterprises’ (MSMEs) productivity and efficiency through better access to technology, increase their productivity, and provide livelihood for the community.
"The equipment worth P250,000 provided to the MFFA can produce a lot of organic fertilizer compared to their manual production," DTI Provincial Director Enrique D. Tacbad said.
He said that the equipment will help them increase and accelerate their organic fertilizer production by almost 100 percent.
The farmers' association has an estimated average sale of P20,000.00 to P25,000.00 per month.
Moreover, Tacbad thanked the cooperators for continuing to use SSFs to contribute to the economy of the province of Zambales and the entire country.
He also assured that DTI Zambales will continue to expand product development, market access, capability build-up in innovation, and digitalization to continue the goal of the SSF Program.
To date, DTl has established a total of 45 SSF projects worth P15 million in the province. (MJSC/RGP-PIA 3)
