QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- To continuously foster development, enrichment, dissemination, and preservation of “Filipino” and other Philippine languages, the Balmaseda Library proudly stands as a special repository fulfilling the mandate of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF).

Named after the former director of the Institute of National Language (INL) from 1938 to 1947, Julian Cruz Balmaseda, the library is a tribute to his significant contributions to the Filipino language. The library safeguards a diverse collection of linguistic, cultural, and literary works, including the Balmaseda Collection, Villanueva Collection, Aklat ng Bayan, reference materials, and more.

With over 5000 printed collections and an additional 700 e-books accessible online at library.kwf.gov.ph, the Balmaseda Library serves as a crucial repository for Filipiniana.

Located at the BFB Building, 1575 JP Laurel St., Cor. Matienza, Brgy. 640, Malacañang Complex, San Miguel, 1005 Manila, the library welcomes visitors and researchers from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
