BHWs and BNSs serve as crucial links between communities and healthcare facilities and in delivering health services, providing fundamental health education, and rendering selected primary healthcare services at the grassroots level.
Conner Mayor Jorico Bayaua expressed gratitude to the provincial PLGU for the assistance. He also pledged additional incentives for all accredited BHW and BNS, including the volunteers in the municipality, as his expression of gratitude for their hard work, and encouragement to sustain their services to the communities.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman EleanorBulut- Begtang turned over P46,000.00 to the Barangay Employment and Services Officers or designated personnel in Conner.
Each of the 23 BESO or designated personnel received P2,000.00 each.
Begtang said the cash incentive is her own little way of showing her appreciation to the BESO for their significant contribution to employment generation in their respective communities. At the same time, it will encourage them to work harder and help more people in their communities.
As the designated counterparts of the Department of Labor and Employment, and the municipal PESO managers, the BESOs are tasked to facilitate the implementation of various programs such as Tulong -Panghanap buhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, Government Internship Program, Special Employment for Students, job fairs and career guidance, and other livelihood programs in the barangays.
The municipality of Conner is the first LGU in Apayao to create a permanent PESO manager position in 2019, and the first municipality to designate its BESOs or employment services officers in the barangays in 2020.(JDP/ RMC- PIA CAR)
