PINUKPUK, Kalinga (PIA) – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) turned over the newly completed evacuation center in Barangay Pinococ, here on January 16.
DILG Provincial Director Anthony Manolo I. Ballug said the P5 million project was funded under the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU). The project started in May 2023.
According to the DILG, FALGU is one of the programs under the Local Government Support Fund that directly provides financial assistance to LGUs to support various priority programs and projects that are necessary for delivering basic services.
Gov. James S. Edduba acknowledged DILG for the provision of the facility in the area. He cited the importance of the center to the village and nearby communities, especially during typhoons and other disasters.
Pinococ barangay chairman Rodolfo T. Sangdaan expressed the community’s gratitude and appreciation to DILG and the province for the completion of the facility.
The long dream and need of our village people and neighboring barangays has now been answered, Sangdaan said. (LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
