PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) -- The Pag-IBIG Puerto Princesa branch expects more membership registrations through their presence in Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) in Puerto Princesa and El Nido until January 20.
Branch head Emely Platero said that Pag-IBIG aims to bring its services closer to Palaweños without the need to visit their office.
“Talagang iniikot na natin kasi ang purpose naman natin ay hindi na gumastos ang mga miyembro natin just to avail our services and program, pati benefits,” she said.
In 2023, Pag-IBIG recorded 339 transactions at Puerto Princesa BOSS, which Platero considers a significant figure of membership registrations.
Mobile service is also provided in the towns of Coron, Brooke’s Point, and Bataraza. Platero said Pag-IBIG is studying the possibility of bringing mobile services to other towns to make services accessible to members.
Pag-IBIG also closely coordinates with employers, particularly those in big companies, to ensure the membership registration of their employees.
“For example, sa Rizal, may members tayo na hindi rin basta nakakaluwas, pinupuntahan natin sila. Kapag walang (request) kami na ang nagsasabi kung pwede namin sila ma-visit uli,” she said.
Even though the local branch has no projected number of membership registrations through BOSS, Platero still expressed hope to register more individuals this year to help them enjoy the benefits of Pag-IBIG.
Meanwhile, Pag-IBIG will also start this year the mandatory short-term loan (STL) application through employers for the ease of doing business. (RG/PIA Mimaropa - Palawan)
