Philharmonic Orchestra to serenade Ilonggos with classic symphonies

ILOILO CITY -- A musical show filled with classic hits will serenade the Ilonggos with the performance of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) on January 19 at Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.

Spearheaded by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the concert forms part of the Dinagyang celebration and promotion of the country’s culture and arts.

“The Cultural Center of the Philippines continues to fulfill its mandate to bring the Philippine arts and culture closer to the Filipino people through different programs and projects, as well as various productions, shows, and events,” according to the press release.

CCP further noted the well-attended concerts of the Philharmonic Orchestra having performed in different towns in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Apart from classical music, the Philharmonic Orchestra will perform show tunes, movie themes, Filipino folk songs, and pop hits under the baton of Maestro Herminigildo Ranera.

Guest performers, Lara Maigue and Gian Magdangal are expected to grace the stage with captivating performances.

After its performance in Iloilo City, the Philharmonic Orchestra will go to Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center in Roxas City, Capiz on January 21, 2024.
