BIR West Bulacan Revenue District Officer Raymund Rachez said the figure also surpassed the P7.9 billion they collected in 2022.
“We contributed to the P2.6 trillion national collection of BIR last year which will be part of the funding for the operation of the national government through the 2024 General Appropriations Act,” he added.
Bulk of the collections came from the P4.8 billion in income taxes that comprises personal income tax worth P3.4 billion, corporate income tax at P1.3 billion and P23.2 million from other income taxes.
Meanwhile, BIR targets a P3 trillion collection for 2024.
