LINGAYEN, Pangasinan (PIA) -- To promote community development and underscore the importance of early childhood education, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) unveiled on Thursday its newly constructed daycare center inside Camp Gov. Antonio U. Sison in this town.
Pangasinan provincial police director, Col. Jeff E. Fanged said the facility, named Tanglaw-Lahi 99 Day Care Center, is a collaborative effort between law enforcers, volunteers, and donors that aims to enhance the community's well-being through early childhood education.
“The daycare center is a testament to the harmonious relationship between the Pangasinan police and the community,” he said.
The facility was built on a 100-square-meter land area with a 60-square-meter floor plan.
It will initially accommodate 20 children of Pangasinan PPO personnel when it opens this coming school year.
Four police personnel have undergone training to foster knowledge, collaboration, and understanding among the students.
Fanged said the P2 million daycare center was built through funds raised during the Congressman Sandro Marcos Cup Shoot for a Cause that was held last year, and donations from Binmaley Vice Mayor Simplicio Rosario and philanthropist Dr. Ashok Vasandani.
The daycare center is equipped with instructional materials, lavatories, and an air-conditioning system.
“If we nurture our family from the very start, our children will surely grow up as peace-loving citizens,” Fanged said.
He said the daycare center’s mode of learning will be aligned with the Department of Education’s curriculum.
Fanged added the center is open to children ages three to six years old.
In his message, Police Regional Office 1 director Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista congratulated the Pangasinan PPO on the project and affirmed the children’s safety while at the center.
“Dito sa daycare center na ito ay lalo pang mapapalapit ang ating komunidad sa kapulisan,” Evangelista said.

Likewise, Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III commended the said project and extended his support for it.
“Mayroon tayong ibang kapulisan na pumasok sa serbisyo na kakakasal lang, and they are just starting their families. If we have kids already, we have to ensure that our kids are in good hands and given proper care and education,” Guico said, adding that the center is an efficient and effective project that embarks on welfare and morale not only for the PNP personnel but also for their dependents.
