Isabela City unveils infrastructure and community development projects

ISABELA CITY, Basilan (PIA) - In a bid to provide better services to its constituents, Isabela City de Basilan has unveiled a series of infrastructure projects that aim to improve access to healthcare, disaster response and quality of life.

These projects, initiated by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, are part of her vision for a happier and more dignified life for all Isabela residents.

One of the recent projects that have been completed is the construction of new barangay halls in Barangay Small Kapatagan and Barangay Kapatagan Grande. The projects, which cost P1,684,007.93 and P1,989, 850.75 respectively, aim to provide better facilities for the local government units (LGUs) to serve their constituents. The new barangay halls will enable the LGUs to provide more efficient and effective services to their communities.

Another significant project that has been inaugurated is the new birthing clinic in Barangay Kapatagan Grande. The project, valued at Php2,400,247.97, is part of the city government's commitment to improving access to healthcare in underserved areas. The clinic will provide essential maternal and child healthcare services to the residents of Barangay Kapatagan Grande and nearby communities.

In addition to these projects, the city government has also launched its Mobile Kitchen project. The Mobile Kitchen, valued at Php3,279,999, is equipped with high-quality cooking equipment to ensure safe and nutritious food for those affected by disasters. The project will be managed by the CDRRMO staff in collaboration with the City Nutrition Action Office to ensure that the food provided is safe and nutritious. This initiative will help ensure that affected communities have access to hot meals during disasters, which will go a long way in improving their resilience and recovery efforts.

These infrastructure projects are a testament to the city government's commitment to community development and infrastructure improvement in Isabela City de Basilan.

Mayor Turabin-Hataman said that these are part of her broader vision for a happier and more dignified life for all Isabela residents, which includes initiatives under her 9 point agenda, namely: transparent and participatory governance; safe, secure and resilient communities; clean and environment-friendly; economically progressive; culturally diverse and proud; sustainable tourism; care for vulnerable members of the society;  health; education and well-being; and synergy.

These initiatives aim to provide opportunities for Isabela's residents to improve their economic conditions and enhance their quality of life.

Isabeleños hope that as the Isabela City de Basilan continues to grow and develop, it is clear that Mayor Turabin-Hataman's leadership and vision will continue to drive positive change in the community.

Isabeleños further hope that with a focus on infrastructure improvement, community development, and disaster response, Isabela City de Basilan is well-positioned to build a brighter future for its residents. (RVC/EDT/NDR/PIA9-BASILAN)
