PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) -- The additional P100 in contributions in February will help members avail increased amounts of benefits from the Pag-IBIG Fund, said the local branch.
It was after Pag-IBIG Fund issued Circular No. 460 containing the guidelines on the implementation of an increase in the maximum fund salary (MFS). Puerto Princesa branch head Emely Platero said during Kapihan sa PIA that this increase was put on hold during the height of COVID-19 pandemic.
“Unang-una, ang hulog natin kay Pag-IBIG ay ipon, ito ay for savings natin kay Pag-IBIG. Kapag dinagdagan natin ang hulog natin, sa pagtaas ng contributions natin sa paglaki ng benepisyo natin mula kay Pag-IBIG,” she said.
Pag-IBIG Puerto Princesa Branch Head Emely Platero gives an update on the increase during the Kapihan sa PIA at SM City Puerto Princesa.
The MFS used in computing employee and employer savings has increased from P5,000 to P10,000. The adjustment doubles the monthly contribution to P200 for the employee and P200 for the employer.
Platero further explained that the increased contribution will help members avail themselves of a larger loanable amount and support funding for housing loans in Pag-IBIG for fellow members.
“Ang ating mga contribution ay kumikita ng dibidendo, taon-taon ay nagbibigay ng dibidendo si Pag-IBIG Fund-- Ang pinagbabasehan ng ating loanable amount ay ‘yong total contributions natin so possible na mas malaki ang malo-loan natin kay Pag-IBIG Fund,” she said.
Pag-IBIG is also strengthening its information dissemination to employers in Palawan to implement the new guidelines effective in February. (RG/PIA Mimaropa - Palawan)
