DANGLAS, Abra(PIA) --The Danglas municipal police station (MPS) recently reorganized its Municipal Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (MAGPTD).
Newly installed Acting Chief-of Police PLt. Reylan Balingway, in coordination with Danglas Mayor Esther Bernos, successfully reorganized the MAGPTD with the participation of the academe, youth, media, elderlies, women, religious and health sectors, and other stakeholders.
Balingway led the oath taking of the new members of the MAGPTD.
In the consultative meeting, Balingway presented the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030, a strategic roadmap to guide efforts for the organization to be a a highly capable, effective, and credible police service by the year 2030. It is focused on upholding the rule of law, ensuring peace and order, and creating a safer environment for people.
Balingway said these goals can be attained with the active support of the different sectors.
“Isu nga addakayo ditoy ta sikayo ti katulongan mi [That’s why you are here because you are our partners] in making a highly capable, effective and credible police service for our town,” he said.
He also presented the Participatory Governance System of the PNP which employs a multi-sectoral approach in attaining the different goals of the PNP.
The MAGPTD members mostly identified information dissemination for their upcoming activities. They agreed to undertake information drive in barangays which will be called ‘Meymeya’, an indigenous term for convening. This will be an innovative approach of the MAGPTD to introduce the members and their services, as well as info campaign on anti-criminality and anti-illegal drugs. The different member-agencies also committed to disseminate their initiatives through PIA’s Podcast episodes.
Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Charisma Abadeza advised the group to align their activities with those of the LGU for possible funding support to double the outputs. (CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
