CATARMAN, Camiguin (PIA)-- The local government of Catarman in the province of Camiguin hopes to enhance the tourism experience and contribute to the overall development of the municipality by constructing the Dinangasan Tourism View Deck and implementing its One Barangay Project.
In a recent radio interview Aldren Susi, Catarman municipal tourism officer, shared plans, programs, and upcoming projects aimed at enhancing the tourism experience in the municipality Susi said Mayor Kiterio Planca had already put on fast-track the ongoing construction of the Dinangasan Tourism View Deck to enable them to hold achieve a soft opening this year. This strategic move is expected to draw visitors eager to witness the beautiful attractions that Catarman has to offer.
The "One Barangay Project" meanwhile is an inclusive effort to involve local communities in the tourism development process. The plan aims to display the delicacies and products of each barangay. Others are the tourism brochures and material campaigns on the view deck. This will not only empower each barangay but also contribute to the overall engagement and development of the municipality.
Additionally, the plans for the construction of the Catarman Tourism Center have been announced, indicating the commitment to establishing a centralized location that will serve the needs of tourists and offer useful information about the area's attractions. Also, there will soon be a new angle on the famous Sunken Cemetery, which will give this well-known location an updated look.
Susi shared that the municipality is preparing for the Panaad celebration in 2024, and it is expected that the participation of the community and the local government's department heads in this yearly event would strengthen Catarman's rich traditional basis.
Emphasizing the municipality's growth and progress over time, Susi also underscored the significance of maintaining continuity in ongoing initiatives.
"As the Tourism Officer of LGU Catarman, atong ipadayon ang mga nasugdan na nga proyekto in order to deliver a more holistic tourism experience sa atong mga tourist, especially sa tourism sector sa Catarman [we will continue the projects that have already begun in order to deliver a more holistic tourism experience to our tourists, especially in the tourism sector of Catarman]," Susi said.
To guarantee that Catarman's tourism industry continues to be a shining example of development and success, he reaffirmed his commitment to creating and implementing sustainable projects and programs.
As Catarman begins to implement these initiatives, it not only represents the growth of a municipality but also the formation of a thriving tourism destination that invites tourists to discover the history, culture, and natural beauty that define this extraordinary province of the Philippines.
