Mt. Province Police brings youth development program to students in Sabangan

The participants, speakers, and facilitators of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office's Moving the Youth Towards Peace and Development 2.0 at the Pingad National High School in Pingad, Sabangan in a photo opportunity at the close of the event.

SABANGAN, Mountain Province(PIA)--Mountain Province Provincial Police Office(MPPO) continues to collaborate with  different agencies, schools, and organizations to help empower students to develop their leadership skills, and to promote peace and sustainable development.

On January 12 to14, 2024,  the MPPPO collaborated with the  Pingad National High School and other partners in Sabangan for the conduct  of “Moving the Youth Towards Peace and Development(MYPD) 2.0” in said school.

About 80 Grades 9-10 students attended the activity which was highlighted  with  lecture on Leadership, Role of Youth in the Community, Spirituality in Mental Health and Importance of Family, Mental Health Awareness, Drug Awareness, Basic First Aid, The Art of Deception, Anti-Cybercrime Tips, Social Media Management, and Project Safe Juana and Juan.

Other highlights of the MYPD 2.0 include values formation and recollection, team building activity, talent showcase and guidon making.

There was also a lecture on  Fostering Mental Resilience and Developing Children’s Emotional Health for guardians and parents.

Grade 10 student Reagan Ducolan is  one happy and grateful  participant.   

“We are thankful for the word of wisdom for our group. After the MYPD, I can say that I have improved, as well as my classmates. This time, we are very lucky that we are the participants, we have learned a lot,” he said.

Another participant expressed continuous support for the MYPD.

“If someone will ask, do you support the activities of MYPD? Definitely, yes, 100 percent because I believe that this kind of activity can change a person,” Quicy Luis said.

The event was made successful through the partnership  with the PNHS administration and  parents and teachers association, barangay officials, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo-Sabangan Chapter, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, Sabangan LGU, among others.
