TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the installation of road safety devices along the 5.182-kilometer Tarlac Ecotourism Park access road.
These include LED street lights, warning and informative signs, and solar pavement markers.
DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineer Neil Farala stressed that the improved road infrastructure and safety measures in the area provides relief to motorists, especially those traveling at night.
“The project is a testament to our commitment to improving connectivity and ensuring the safety of motorists and visitors. We prioritized the installation of road safety devices along the access road, enhancing road visibility and minimizing the risk of accidents,” he noted.
The completion of the P100.3-million project was funded under the Special Road Fund-Motor Vehicle User Charge as part of the 2023 national budget.
Farala added that DPWH focused on enhancing the road leading to the popular tourism spot in San Jose, Tarlac to boost the tourism industry and local economy.
“Over the years, we have been upgrading the access road to provide a smoother and safer travel experience for both locals and tourists. Ensuring safe and secure accessibility will have a lasting impact on the province’s tourism industry,” he said.
The agency will continue initiatives that focus on road development and safety to elevate connectivity, tourism, and the overall quality of life of communities throughout the province. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
