CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Phividec Industrial Authority (IA) is ready to build around 3,000 to 4,000 housing units for informal settler families within the Phividec estate.
Lawyer Joseph Donato Bernedo, Phividec IA Administrator, said the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) will carry out the project.
He said they aim to unveil the housing project in August this year, coinciding with the 50th anniversary celebration of Phividec IA.
Bernedo said the project aligns with the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing Program (4PH), the flagship housing program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
He explained that the project's target beneficiaries are those informal settler families registered in the Phividec system.
"Kailangan kasi vetted ng mabuti ito kasi ayaw din natin na maging negosyo yung pagpasok ng informal settlers. This has to be legitimate informal settler families," he emphasized.
Around 2,000 families in Phividec areas within Tagoloan and Villanueva municipalities have already registered in the system.
