BOTOLAN, Zambales (PIA) -- About 90,000 Zambales residents benefitted from the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) held from January 27 to 28 in the town of Botolan.
The BPSF is the country's biggest service caravan aimed at providing major government services to less fortunate Filipinos in various communities across the country, featuring the government's flagship programs such as Kadiwa ng Pangulo, Passport on Wheels, and Driver's License registration/assistance, among others.
House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, who was the guest of honor during the event, urged the public to support the BPSF.
"Under the BPSF, a flagship program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the government does not wait but joins together in bringing services to help you, our dear countrymen, to achieve a better tomorrow. Please visit all the government agencies participating in the Serbisyo fair,” he said.
Romualdez also expressed his full support to BPSF.
"We, in the House of Representatives, are united with the president in the goal of Bagong Pilipinas, which is to provide Filipinos with government services that they should avail of to enhance their living conditions", he furthered.
Zambales 2nd District Representative Doris "Nanay Bing" Maniquiz said this caravan is the first of its kind in Region 3 and the 10th in the country.
"Today is a historic moment for us. We, Zambaleños, are very grateful to our dear President [Bong Bong] Marcos. Zambales will be recognized in the field of public service through the BPSF", she said.
Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. also expressed his thanks to President Marcos for bringing the caravan to the province.
A total of P654 million worth of programs and services were brought to the province. Of the figure, P154 million was distributed as financial assistance.
With over 46 participating national government agencies, and 177 services and programs were offered during the two-day fair.
Among the services offered are the distribution of equipment, financial assistance, scholarship programs, livelihood assistance, and payouts to priority sectors. (MJSC/RGP-PIA 3)
