Meanwhile, in response to increasing traffic incidents, Mayor Frederick Siao said they will establish a composite team to enforce speed limits and traffic laws and regulations. This team will comprise members from the Philippine National Police, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Iligan City Traffic and Parking Management Office, and the Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to address road accidents and violations.
With this, the City Engineer’s Office will coordinate with the Department of Public Works and Highways to update road signs reflecting the speed limits of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour (kph) in the city proper and 60 kph on highways. Cases against speed limit violators will be filed within two months.
In an interview, Siao also shared about the establishment of Task Force Iligan to fortify the city's defense against potential threats.
"Ma-cover gyud nato tibuok Iligan, ma-strengthen nato ang atong depensa against sa mga naay tinguha against Iligan coupled with activation pod puhon sa CCTV, I am sure magduhaduha na ang mga kriminal nga magbuhat og binuang dinhi sa Iligan [This will definitely cover the entire Iligan, strengthen our defense against those who have intentions that are not good for Iligan, coupled with the activation soon of CCTV. I am sure criminals will hesitate to do harm here in Iligan]," he said.

Currently, the installation of around 225 CCTV cameras is underway and will be placed on the streets, equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities to detect and recognize faces.
