HINGYON, Ifugao(PIA)-- The Hingyon Fire Station has now its own new fire truck.
Bureau of Fire Protection-Cordillera Regional Director, FSSupt Robert Pacis turned over the state-of-the-art fire truck following its blessing at the Hingyon municipal gymnasium on January 12.
The firetruck worth P14.5 million can carry 1,000 gallons and can discharge 3,000 liters per minute. It is also fully equipped with sets of personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting hoses and nozzles, a foam-generating nozzle with alcohol-resistant aqueous film-forming foam, and other firefighting tools and accessories.
Pacis said Hingyon municipality is fortunate to be a recipient of state of the art fire truck, as well as a fire station that is ongoing construction at a municipal lot in Awwa in barangay Piwong, to boost the capability of the BFP personnel to respond to all kinds of destructive fires.
The new firetruck and the fire station are part of the BFP Modernization Program under Republic Act No. 11589, which is geared towards enhancing the capability of its personnel and acquiring state-of-the-art fire prevention, fire suppression, fire investigation, and emergency medical and rescue services facilities and equipment.
