BALER, Aurora (PIA) -- Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) trained about 56 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) treasurers in the province of Aurora on community-based bookkeeping.
Conducted in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), attendees were from the municipalities of Baler, San Luis and Dipaculao.
DILG Provincial Director Ener Cambronero said the five-day activity is pursuant to Republic Act No. 11768, otherwise known as the SK Reform Act of 2015, which requires SK Treasurers to undergo bookkeeping course from TESDA and receive the appropriate certification before taking office.
Topics covered include introduction to government accounting, registries, financial reports, annexes, and policies on receipts/collections and deposits and disbursements/payment.
“There was also a brief discussion on Republic Act No. 9184, otherwise known as the Government Procurement Reform Act, and its 2016 Implementing Guidelines,” Cambronero added.
DILG and TESDA is set to hold online sessions for SK treasurers in the towns of Maria Aurora, Dilasag, Dingalan, Casiguran, and Dinalungan. (CLJD/MAT-PIA 3)
