BALANGA CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) concreted a 1,003-meter farm-to-market road at barangay Mabatang in Abucay, Bataan.
The once gravel road has been upgraded to a five-meter wide, two-lane concrete pavement.
DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said the improvements include slope protection with grouted riprap in specific sections, safeguarding the road from erosion and enhancing overall stability and resilience.
“The completed infrastructure empowers the farming community, ensuring their efforts benefit families,” he added.
It also exemplifies DPWH's commitment to enhancing communities, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for Bataan residents.
The P13.5-million project is part of the convergence program of DPWH and Department of Agriculture with funds sourced from the 2023 General Appropriations Act. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
