DA pilots Intervention Monitoring Card Program in Nueva Ecija town

CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) -- Department of Agriculture (DA) has distributed Intervention Monitoring Cards (IMC) to over a hundred farmers in Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.

The cards will enable farmers to get easier access to government assistance. Aliaga is the first municipality in the country to implement the use of IMC in claiming fertilizer subsidies.

National Rice Program Director U-Nichols Manalo said the IMC program aims to modernize and digitize the processes and activities of the agency.

“It must only be used at the right time and process based on our guidance and instructions,” he pressed.

IMC will serve as an e-wallet for farmers to interventions from the national government including distribution of fertilizers and financial aid.

DA partnered with the Development Bank of the Philippines and Universal Storefront Services Corporation in the roll-out of the program. (CLJD/CCN-PIA 3)
