BALANGA CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) paved two rural roads located in the municipalities of Samal and Hermosa in Bataan.
The concreted 453.20 linear meter section of a local road at sitio Guiso in barangay Palili, Samal was undertaken to enhance the travel experience of residents when visiting institutions like markets and government offices.
DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said a total of P4.95 million was allotted for the pavement of the two-lane, five-meter rural road.
"Undertaking projects like this is vital for poverty improvement, providing farmers with safer access and better mobility at any time," he pressed.
Meanwhile, a final inspection has also been conducted for the P9.90-million road project at sitio Lambang in barangay Mabiga, Hermosa.
"In order to help the residents of the rural barangay transport their goods to the nearby market more efficiently, we have finished concreting the 747.70 linear meter portion of this local route, ensuring that most of the uneven and substandard surfaces have been paved. This protects motorists and pedestrians from potential accidents and injuries caused by uneven surfaces," Flores shared.
The project also included the cleaning or reconditioning of existing drainage structures and the construction of grouted riprap. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
