TESDA strengthens ties with TVIs for more skills trainings in Abra

PIDIGAN, Abra(PIA) -- More skills trainings and technical-vocational assistance will benefit Abrenians this year as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)  strengthens  collaboration with technical vocational institutions (TVIs), and other partners in the  province.

The TESDA Abra provincial office  recently organized a Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET) forum  with the Philippine Red Cross-Abra Chapter, Mount Carmel Training Center, Data Center College of the Philippines-Bangued, Provincial Training Center, and the Abra Training Institute to  discuss areas of collaboration to upgrade technical-vocational services offered to learners.

"Daytoy a TVET Forum ket maysa a venue tapno dagiti amin nga TESDA-registered schools tayo ket mapakaamoan kadagiti agduduma nga policies ken nu kasatnu nga ma-implement ti ganuat ti TESDA ken dagiti programana,”  said TESDA-Abra Provincial Director Jimicio Daoaten

[This TVET forum is a venue for  all the TESDA-registered schools to know the different policies, and how to implement the TESDA programs.]

According to  Daoaten,  one of the 10-point agenda  of  TESDA Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu outlining strategic priorities and objectives  of TESDA, is  prioritizing TVET to meet the demands of the industry or the locality of a certain area.

Daoaten shared  that TESDA’s budget for the different scholarship programs in the province  has  doubled this year.

“I encourage Abrenians to avail these training programs of TESDA as there is a funding ready for the different skills training program. This will give you job opportunities in the future,” he said.

Interested  individuals may proceed  to TESDA Provincial Office in Pidigan, Abra near the municipal hall for inquiries, and  for enrolment.

Doaten  also appeals  for the  putting  up of training institutions to accommodate more trainees especially those from the far-flung towns.

“There are  only five registered schools in Abra, so we are appealing to those who are able to invest in  the establishment of a training center so that more schools, and courses will be made available for the Abrenians,” he said. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
