KABASALAN, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd District Engineering Office has started the construction of an access road in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The P87 million project is funded under the General Appropriations Act. The access road will link the barangays of Banker and Sininan.

With a total net length of 1,985 linear meters, the access road aims to improve transportation in the area, benefiting both commuters and cargo vehicles. Once completed, the road will enhance connectivity and provide a smoother and more efficient route, reducing travel time and promoting economic development. 

Residents are hopeful about the project's potential to bring about positive changes by addressing mobility issues and fostering improved connections. Marden Koch, a resident of Barangay Banker, acknowledges and appreciates the positive development in their area, highlighting the importance of the project's impact, especially in terms of daily commutes and promoting local economic development.

“We are so glad of this development because it will make our everyday travel easier. We also anticipate that it will boost our local economy as the area will be accessible for commerce and trade,” Koch said.

The improved accessibility is anticipated to have a favorable outcome for local communities, fostering economic growth and improving the overall quality of life for residents and neighboring areas. This endeavor is poised to address transportation challenges and promote enhanced connectivity conducive to both economic activities and community interaction.
