LUCENA CITY, Quezon (PIA) – Over P2.5 million worth of financial and livelihood assistance was awarded by the Department of Labor and Employment Quezon Provincial Office (DOLE-QPO) and the Office of the Vice Governor to farmer's associations from the province’s 2nd district.
Around 200 farmers belonging to the Tulong Pangsakahan Para Sa Atimoya Farmers Association, Tulong Pangsakahan Para Sa Concepcion 1 Coconut Farmers and Workers Association, Tulong Pangsakahan Para Sa St. Isidore Greenland Association, and the Tulong Pangsakahan Para Sa Magigiting na Magsasaka Farmers Association (MNMFA) will benefit from the agricultural inputs which include grass cutters, rechargeable knapsack sprayers, rice mill machines, hoes, sickles, scythe, mattocks, sacks, heavy duty raincoats, heavy duty rubber boots, solar powered water pumps, power tillers, seedlings, fertilizers, hand tractors, and trellis twine.
With the use of these tools, the associations are expected to boost their productivity and harvest, refine their agricultural methods, and eventually clear the path towards long-term sustainability.
