Fisherfolks, PWDs, trike drivers get rice subsidy from PGI

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - A total of 3, 360 fish farmers, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and tricycle drivers from the northern towns of Isabela recently received rice subsidies from the provincial government.

The rice subsidy is part of the social development programs of Gov. Rodolfo Albano III and Vice Gov. Faustino G. Dy III to help Isabeleños uplift their living standard.

The beneficiries were from the towns of Sto. Tomas, Sta. Maria, Cabagan, Delfin Albano, Tumauini, and San Pablo.

Albano said provincial government has earlier distributed rice subsidies to Barangay Tanods, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Day Care Workers, tobacco farmers and several other sectors. 

“Nabibigyan na namin ang mga barangay tanod, barangay health workers at day care workers, tobacco farmers at iba pa. Ngayon, kasama na ang fisherfolks at PWDs,” (We have already given rice subsidies to barangay tanods, BHWs, DCWs, tobacco farmers and other sectors, this time we are distributing rice subsidies to tricycle drivers, PWDs, and fisherfolks) Albano said.

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Faustino G. Dy III said the commitment of the provincial government in developing programs to support the livelihood of the Isabeleños will continue.

"The Provincial Government is always prepared to deliver various programs to benefit and uplift the lives of Isabeleños. Not only that, the local government now provides rice to our beloved Isabeleños that are produced by our farmers,” Dy said. 

Meanwhile, the beneficiries expressed their thanks to the provincial leaders for giving them rice subsidy which is beneficial for their day to day living. 

Recently, the Provincial Government also gave rice subsidy to the 2, 376 teaching and non-teaching personnel of the Isabela State University (ISU) system. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
