SAN ANTONIO, Quezon (PIA) – The provincial government of Quezon has partnered with various medical professional associations in organizing medical missions to the province’s remote towns.
The initial mission benefitted around 3,000 residents of the town of San Antonio town where doctors, dentists and nurses were deployed to provide medical check-ups and consultation, circumcision, tooth extraction, minor surgeries, eye check-up, ultrasound and laboratory procedures, and vaccination.
According to Quezon Governor Helen Tan they are doing all of the efforts to get to every municipality in Quezon in order to provide much-needed medical aid to the locals.
"We will try to provide genuine and natural service throughout Quezon to help everyone in need of medical support,” she said.
According to the Quezon Provincial Information Office, the Quezon government has partnered with different medical organizations inside and outside the Calabarzon region to successfully carry out the program.
The partner organizations include: RAKKK Prophet Medical Center Inc.; Provincial Health Office; Rizal Medical Center; Quirino Memorial Medical Center; Southern Luzon Command; Quezon Provincial Hospital Network; Batangas Medical Center; Rizal Eye Center; East Avenue Medical Center; and several individual physicians.
Joevelyn Lajara, one of the beneficiaries of the program in San Antonio thanked the provincial government for this project.
"The medical mission that came here in the town of San Antonio is really a big help for us, so thank you very much and we are given this medical mission for free," Lajara said.
Meanwhile, Marieta Japlit, another beneficiary, conveyed her appreciation to the medical professionals and volunteers for their commitment in enabling this program.
She stated: “I thank Dra. Helen Tan as well as all the doctors and volunteers for their dedication to make the program happen.”
Along with the medical mission, essential medicines were also given for the 14 barangays of the town of San Antonio which aims to help the citizens in need.
Tan advised her constituents to visit their social media pages to regularly monitor the schedule of where another medical mission will be conducted.
"We will try to provide a genuine and natural service that goes all over Quezon and we already have schedules. So, please look at the Provincial Government of Quezon Facebook page, and we [will post] there the schedule where we will go next," Tan stated. (AM/RO, PIA-4A)
