LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA)-- Ifugao province and nine of its municipalities received the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) certification from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), joining 83 other successful local government units (LGUs) in the Cordillera region for exemplary financial management
Only the municipalities of Aguinaldo and Banaue failed to make the mark.
The GFH recognition is granted to LGUs demonstrating outstanding financial management marked by transparency and accountability.
LGUs earning the GFH seal are commended for their adherence to sound financial management principles, which are vital for effective governance and improved public services.
The GFH seal is a crucial component of the six assessments LGUs undergo before qualifying for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
The SGLG promotes proactive measures in disaster preparedness, responsive social protection for various sectors including women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, fostering business-friendliness and competitiveness, maintaining peace and order, and promoting effective environmental management.
