1,000 individuals served in Kalinga Day medical mission

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) -- About 1,000  indigent patients in the province were served in the medical-dental outreach concluding  this year’s Kalinga Day and Bodong Festival celebration.

Free services delivered included medical consultations, laboratory services, x-rays, ECGs, ultrasounds, tooth extraction and tooth fill-up.

The mission team also distributed free medicines, vitamins, toothbrush and toothpaste.

The humanitarian mission was initiated by Dr. Joy Gunnawa-Soriano, a native of  Kalinga, and member of a US-based UNICEF and Global Dental Relief (GDR) organization. It was jointly undertaken with the Provincial Health Office, Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Kalinga Medical Society, Kalinga Dental Chapter and the provincial government.

Soriano acknowledged supporters abroad, as all  partners and volunteers in the province who contributed  in  making the   outreach mission possible.

Similar outreach activities are  set in a school in Tabuk City,  and in  Lubuagan municipality. (LL—PIA CAR, Kalinga) Photos by PLGU Kalinga
