DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Judo Federation (PJF) on Feb. 18 concluded the Mindanao leg of its awareness caravan in Davao City.
The activity initiated by the Philippine Sports Commission aims to reach out to the grassroots communities across Mindanao.
“The intention was to bring judo to parts of the community na wala pa (there is no judo yet), but for those cities with established judo organizations, they were very willing and organized themselves to help out in the efforts,” PJF president Alexander Sulit t said.
One of the instructions he gave to the key people of the caravan was to identify point persons in the community who have the potential to continue the program.
Sulit said one of their objectives is to sustain the gains of the caravan.
“Immediately after this caravan is that by next month, this March, we will be having a coaches or instructors certification course; we will be inviting those identified potential point persons to undergo that seminar, and they will be ,so it is a continuation,” he said.
