Lacson has garnered the firm support of the church, with the bishops of the province-Gerardo Alminaza of the Diocese of San Carlos, Louie Galbines of the Diocese of Kabankalan, and Patricio Buzon of the Diocese of Bacolod, expressing their support for SecuRE.
The church leaders have pledged to work hand in hand with the provincial government, local communities, and all stakeholders in implementing the SecuRE Negros Program, seeing the urgency of addressing environmental degradation and the disproportionate impact of climate change on the poor and the vulnerable.
