PNP installs WV's new top cop

ILOILO CITY (PIA6) –- The Philippine National Police installed the top cop for Western Visayas who previously served as the Acting Director of the PNP Aviation Security Group.

Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, who is a native of Benguet and a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy “Tagapagpatupad" Class of 1992, formally assumed his post as the new director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6).

Philippine National Police Chief Police General Benjamin C. Acorda, Jr. led the turnover of command between the new PRO6 Acting Director PBGen. Wanky and the outgoing PBGen. Sidney N. Villaflor at Camp Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City.

Acorda said that under the new leadership of Wanky, the regional office will achieve its new heights in ensuring the safety and security of the citizens.

The PNP Chief also extended his appreciation and commendation to the men and women of the PRO6 for their outstanding performance in maintaining peace and security in the region.

Wanky in his message sought the support and cooperation of everyone which is vital in the campaign against criminality especially in the goal to end the local communist terrorist in the region.
